Anamaria Marinca bio
Anamaria is a Romanian Actress. Her debut on screen was with the Channel 4 film Sex Traffic for which she won the British Academy Television Award for the Best Actress. French, German English fluently. Her father, who is a teacher of theatre at one of Romania's most prestigious theatre schools, is a theatre teacher. The Young Actor Gala Mangalia awarded her the Best Female Actor Award of 2000. It was the European Film Promotion Board named her a European Shooting Star in 2008. An actress with Romanian origin, Anamaria Marinca made her debut in film with the British-Canadian TV film Sex Traffic for which she received the British Academy Television Award for Best Actress. Her role in Romanian art film 4 months 3 Weeks and 2 Days is remembered as well. The film won her many prizes, including being awarded the European Film Award Best Actress to London Film Critics. In 2007, she starred in the Romanian film 4 luni 3 saptamani si 2 days (4 Months 3 Weeks and 2 days) by Cristian Mungiu. It received the Palme d'Or at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival and two other awards (the Cinema Prize of the French National Education System and the FIPRESCI prize). Youth Without Youth by Francis Ford Coppola was a different film in which she appeared. In 2008, Marinca played Yasim in BBC's Five-Episode The Last Enemy. Marinca has appeared on The Romanian drama Boogie and Oliver Hirschbiegel's Five Minutes of Heaven. In the film Fury (2014) in which she was Irma who was the German woman who was Emma's aunt.
