Leona LaurenLeona Louise (born on the 3rd April in 1986) is an British performer, actress an activist, actor, and singer. She was born and raised in the London Borough of Islington and went to Croydon's BRIT School for Performing Arts and Technology. Lewis achieved national recognition when she was awarded the third series on The X Factor 2006 and was awarded a contract of PS1 million with Syco music. The single she won in the contest, which was a cover Kelly Clarkson's track "A Moment like This" which was downloaded by 50,000 people in just 30 minutes and was ranked at the top of the charts for four weeks. In February 2007, Lewis agreed to sign a five-album deal with the United States with Clive Davis's record label J Records. The success continued for Lewis when she released her debut album, Spirit (2007). It received platinum certification in the UK and became the fourth most-sold album in 2000s. As per the Official Charts Company, Spirit is the most-sold debut album of female artists during the 21st century. "Bleeding Love" is the single that was released as the album's lead track from the album, was Number One within the UK for seven weeks. It also was the highest-selling single in the UK. The song was also the highest-selling single sold in the US that year. Lewis won the Billboard Best New Artist Award the next year. The singer released Echo in 2009 and also made "I Love You" as the movie's theme track. In the year 2011, Lewis released the single "Collide" which was a collaboration together with Swedish DJ Avicii and also her first extended work, Hurt: The EP. Glassheart (2012) came out as Lewis's three studio albums. The album was Lewis the first time she tried electronic music , dubstep, and electronic music. In the course of her Glassheart Tour in 2013, she began recording songs for her first Christmas album. Christmas, with Love was released later in the year. The album's first single, "One More Sleep", peaked at number three on the charts in the UK. Lewis who is an British female solo artist was the first British solo artist to break the Top Five with eight songs. It was more than Olivia Newton John's record which included seven singles.
