Lars MikkelsenHe was enrolled at the National Theatre School of Denmark at the age of 27. He graduated in 1995. He also appeared in The Killing, a drama series that aired around the world. Then, he appeared in Those Who Kill II and Borgen III, two other popular Danish dramas. He also played a major role in Sherlock the show, a BBC drama where was the character Charles Augustus Magnussen, whose blackmailer. He played the role of Russia's president on the American television series House of Cards. In the year 2018, he took home an International Emmy Award for his part as the president of Russia in the Danish television drama Herrens Veje. This was broadcast in the UK as Ride Upon the Storm in the year 2019. Mikkelsen is proficient in English, Swedish and German. He also has multiple accents. According to Mikkelsen's sources the story, he and his brother learned English through Monty Python records.
